|Still can't get over the fact I live in a town with a real Medieval castle!|
Another week and the training for the 3km sponsored walk at the end of the month continues apace.
Spurring us on is the fact that we have already surpassed our initial goal of collecting £200 in aid of Burrswood Hospital and Pets As Therapy .
Now we've has raised the target to £300 - and are almost three-quarters of the way there already.
Today Rachel, Alice and I walked to Tonbridge Castle and back, which is about equal to the distance we will be doing in the Bark For Burrswood event.
There were plenty of other dogs for Alice to play with along the way as well as a lot of cuddles and affection from strangers - either fellow dog owners or simply people swept up in Alice's boundless enthusiasm for life.
My mum would have loved Alice and in her final years, in the care of the wonderful Mount Ephraim House care home in Tunbridge Wells, the frequent visits by Pets As Therapy (PAT) animals always brought a smile to her face.
As ever, Rachel and I are deeply moved by the generosity of those who have backed us already on our sponsored walk. If anyone else wants to throw a few pennies our way, our JustGiving page can be found by clicking here (or the picture of Alice in the top, left-hand corner of HeroPress)
