Rootling through a box of old photographs, I came across the Polaroid picture above, which actually had the date it was taken (June 11, 1982) written on it - which so few of my pictures do.
Snapped in my parents' lounge, this was our "gang", a group of friends mainly from Pembury that used to hang around together when we were teenagers.
As childhood friends do, we've all drifted apart (poor Richard was killed in a motorcycle accident), but years later Nick (Green) and Steve joined me for a birthday photo session in London (at the Trocadero) where we got dressed up as Wild West miscreants.
I have a large, elaborately framed, sepia print of this picture poised to hang on the wall - when I can find the space.
I love these faux historical pictures!
