Alice attended her third dog show in three weeks today when we popped down the road (well, 20 minutes by car anyway) to Hever Castle for its Paws At The Castle event.
Although we didn't enter Alice into any of the classes, we had a good, slow amble around the event, picking up freebies, buying some pet treats and other dog-related paraphernalia, chatting with loads and loads of other dog owners, and - the highlight of the day for me - I got my picture taken (along with Alice) with some huskies.
I love huskies, always have, but have never been this close to them before. You can see one of them above, with me and Alice (she wasn't scared of them at all, and enjoyed having her photo taken professionally again).
Unfortunately the husky section of the event was in a field slightly away from the main event (there were a lot of huskies, and when they started baying it was rather a Jack London/White Fang moment that gave me goosebumps), so they weren't getting the footfall that the main arena was. Which was a shame, because they are gorgeous!
Hopefully tomorrow (it's a two-day event), more people will come and visit them.
We also took a moment to try Alice on an agility course (she'd tried one last week at a rainy dog show in Tonbridge and hadn't been impressed), and while there were parts (like the jump and the tunnel) that she wouldn't do, Rachel and I were rather impressed with how she took to the giant see-saw.
If so inclined you can see more pictures of Alice, and us, at the event over on her Facebook page.
