A combination of great visuals and enthusiasm make Gordon Richard's wargaming blog I Have Wrought My Simple Plan... inspirational reading for newbies to the joys of tabletop gaming as well as hardcore wargamers.
(1) How long have you been blogging, and how’d you get into it in the first place?
Not long at all, really. It was born on November 23, 2014. The month I finally introduced my then eight-year old boy to the wonders of wargaming. The blog was intended as a sort of record or diary of our adventures together... and if some other wargamers found it of interest then great! The boy is now a nine-year-old veteran who regularly gives his old man a good thrashing.
(2) What do you blog about and how frequently do you post?
The wargames we play, and those we hope to play. Cool figures, terrain and any other wargaming related stuff that we've picked up or hope to. The odd loosely-related boardgame or book.
(3) How does your blog stand out from all the rest?
There are so many inspirational wargaming blogs out there with such accomplished painters and terrain makers that I'm quite surprised at the number of our followers and page views. I guess the fact that our blog is about the adventures my son and I are having together makes it a bit different... and people really do seem to like the comic book battle reports we put together.
I'm also not much good at the hobby side of things but have managed to make a variety of great-looking tables by using aquarium decorations as terrain... so perhaps there are other wargamers out there like me always on the lookout for ready-made terrain solutions! And then there are the miniatures...painted for us by the inimitable Matt Slade of Glenbrook Games!

(4) What’s the best (and worst) thing about blogging?
The best thing is being part of a friendly and enthusiastic community of fellow wargamers... a truly inspirational bunch! The worst thing is the (self-imposed) pressure of having to blog a couple of times a week!
(5) Do you have any self-imposed rules (or guidelines) for your blog?
I try to stick to wargaming and specifically about stuff related directly to what me and my son are playing, are planning on playing or are excited about. I also, as I mentioned before, try to post two or three times a week.
(6) Name one blog everyone should be reading (other than your own).
I'm going to wimp out on this one as there are just so many blogs that I find an inspiration...take a look at my (massive!) blog roll!

Cheers, Tim. The kind words are much appreciated...me and the boy are chuffed to bits!
