|My Doctor Who RPG Library: Much Research Is Called For...|
As we head into my tenth year of blogging, what plans do I have for HeroPress?
To be honest, largely more of the same as it seems to be doing okay.
More adventure seeds/writing prompts in the form of Torn From The Headlines links would be good, as I enjoy the combination of brevity and utility in these.
There'll also be more Six Of The Best interviews (as these 'add value' to the site, in my opinion), more cosplayers and geek pin-ups (as these are rather popular, for some reason), more comic book bits and bobs etc etc
I guess my main goal will be to generate more 'product'. Back when the Tuesday Knights were using Villains & Vigilantes and Crypts & Things as their RPG system du jour, and even when we started on Heroes & Other Worlds, I was writing up monsters, spells, rules hacks etc because I knew - and grokked - those systems well.
Going forward, I'm not yet decided on what system the Knights will be embracing next, but the strongest contenders are Cubicle 7's Doctor Who RPG (which I don't know that well at all) or Exile Game's Ubiquity system (which I know fairly well).
Whichever I eventually settle on, I'll need to refresh my knowledge of the existing rules before I can even consider writing anything of my own.
Obviously, I'd also like to write more reviews (primarily DVDs and television shows).
As I said a few weeks ago, I aim to get back on track with my commentary on Doctor Who - having bowed out two years ago because of my growing disappointment with the way current show runner Steven Moffat was taking the programme and its mythology.
All this, as ever, hinges on my fluctuating health and the continuing existence of our planet.
