My amazing wife has outdone herself with my geeky Valentine's Day presents this year.
While I got her a vintage dress and a couple of books, she got me a Pop Vinyl Slimer (to go with my growing army of bedside Pop Vinyls), Downtime (an old Doctor Who fan film that has been given an official DVD release), a CD of the original Ghostbusters soundtrack, and a trio of brilliant graphic novels:
- Superman Vs Muhammad Ali (I remember being intrigued by the adverts for this as a kid, it was published in '78, but never thought that it would still be available until I saw my Facebook pal Charles Rutledge mention it the other day)
- Suicide Squad: The Nightshade Odyssey (with the film coming out, all the old issues I devoured in the late '80s, at the height of my DC Comics love, are being republished in trade form)
- Ghostbusters: Get Real (The IDW Ghostbusters meet the Ghostbusters of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon! What's not to enjoy?)
And check out the incredible Star Wars-themed Valentine's Card, Rachel gave me:
We shall be rounding off the day with a quality meal from Cook (dining in the dining room, rather than on trays on our laps in front of the TV, as it's a "posh" meal), before snuggling up with Alice in the lounge to watch Call The Midwife.
