Way back in May 2014, I helped Kickstart an incredible-looking "hikers get lost and stumble across terrifying secret" movie called Beacon Point, that I'd first read about the January before.
Finally, after a very long gestation period, it looks as though the film is going to see the light of day in cinemas, on TVs, and on DVD in the near(ish) future.
Writer/director Eric Blue recently told his legion of patient Kickstarter supporters:
"We are in the process of talking with movie distribution companies about releasing Beacon Point to the world. There is a ton of excitement about the movie, we've had fantastic feedback and response so far, and the good news is that you'll be able to see Beacon Point in the near future. Unfortunately we don't have a date yet but we hope to soon."Watching the trailer again just now reminded me why I was so jazzed about this movie in the first place (pay very close attention to the background at about the 43 second mark). I love the hinted-at mythology that's being set-up here.
Not so enamoured of the new poster (at the top), a brutal piece of Photoshopping that makes it look like an cheesy SyFy Channel flick, I prefer the moody graphics below of the older posters below.
