As the Kickstarter for Villains & Vigilantes 3.0: Mighty Protectors enters its final few days, analytic engine Kicktraq has the campaign trending towards a final total of over $40,000.
The fundraiser is averaging 27 backers and $1,350 in new pledges each day, and - after the initial influx of support - has attracted a steady stream of interest for its duration.
Its primary funding goal was easily achieved, guaranteeing the new iteration of the game (which I got to try out at the weekend) will see print, and five stretch goals have already been hit with the sixth (at $39,000) on the horizon.
Game co-creator Jeff Dee has announced an amendment to that stretch goal, meaning now that anyone who pledges at least $80 (down from $105) to the campaign will get the free PDF of the Beyond This World adventure/sourcebook for taking your games into outer space.
The final few days of a campaign are traditionally when things fluctuate, with some backers getting cold feet (for whatever reason) and others (especially those signed up for the '48 hours from end' alert) decide to jump onboard.
But the main thing is the game is definitely coming, there are some nice add-ons, and everything else is gravy.
If you've been sitting on the fence about this, now is the time to make up your mind because you've only got a few days left to invest in this project.
