|Day Six: The Captain's Chair!|
As if by magic yesterday, my comfy chair 'reappeared' from under stacks of 'stuff', and the games' table was finally stripped of all unnecessary clutter.
Unfortunately, the table - not being really designed to take the weight of all the crap I had heaped on it - has buckled ever so slightly (but enough to be noticeable when you put the terrain tiles back on top).
The table is very special to me because the top segments were built by my late father to slot over the top of Nick's old kitchen table that he had donated to me many, many years ago for my flat in Sevenoaks (after I came back from university).
When Rachel and I moved in here, I was all excited about the prospect of having a table for wargames.
However, after the one pulp adventure game Nick and I had (Doc Savage vs The Zombies) it was obvious that, while the table top was the perfect 6ft by 4ft, there wasn't enough room for the players to easily move round the sides without bumping shoulders into glass cabinets or heads on the arched ceiling!
But the table still makes a great place to set up miniature displays. And after all the clearing this week, Rachel insisted that I set something up, just to show off the table again.
