Bye-Bye, Kai! Have a lovely life in Spain... |
It's taking me longer than I'd thought to get back to normal, after the 10 days of Operation: Gamesoom. To be honest, it's now looking as though HeroPress won't be up to full speed again until after Halloween.
My old computer is really grinding to a halt now, so I'm thinking I should be investing in a new one soon, which will also play merry havoc with the publication of HeroPress during the transition. That's looking like another "birthday" investment!
Nick (Green) popped round yesterday morning, which was great as I haven't seen him for over a year. Sadly he can't make it to my "50th Birthday Meal" next month... because his band has a gig that evening, which is just the coolest excuse.
To make up for that he has offered to take me to the cinema one day. As he now works just four days a week, it'll be easy to go during the day when the cinema isn't too crowded.
When Rachel was sorting through my disorganised files, she unearthed a load of old photographs that could make interesting Throwback Thursday posts, so I'm hoping to get to those in the near future.
In other news, as I mentioned back in January, Kai, the orang-utan I have "sponsored" for almost a decade at the world-famous Monkey World rescue centre, near Bournemouth, has moved overseas to start a new life at a centre in Spain.
The latest issue of Monkey World's Ape Rescue Chronicle (pictured above) has a feature on Kai's successful emigration to the Rio Safari in Elche, Spain.
This means that as from my birthday next month, a new ape will enter my life: a chimpanzee called Mojo (X-Men fans will get why I picked that particular primate).
I'll tell you more about Mojo when my adoption pack arrives!
I missed your first post on Monkey World; that seems like a great cause to take part in. Congrats to Kai!
