|Celebrating her third birthday: Alice with Rachel and I at a 1940's event at the Tenterden steam railway|
It's hard to believe our little puppy is all grown up. Alice is three today (which in dog years puts her in her early 20s).
Her birthday celebrations began with her regular appointment at the groomers last week, which made her look even cuter than normal and heightened her teddy bear fluffiness to almost illegal levels.

At the weekend we took her to Barkers in Sevenoaks, a wonderfully upmarket palace of pooch pampering, to pick out a new lead (her 'superhero'-themed one has seen better days) and her birthday presents (she even made it on to the Barkers' Facebook page).
After all the attention she got there we returned to Tonbridge, when she got loads of coos and cuddles as we stopped for afternoon tea at Beyond The Grounds, by the river, then dropped in to Cook to pick up some side dishes for our evening meal.
The weekend culminated with a trip to the Tenterden steam railway aka The Kent & East Sussex Railway, which was hosting a 1940's weekend.
Unsurprisingly, Alice was a big hit and got lots of praise and affection while we were there. It was actually a bit hot for her, but given that her breed is bred for companionship, the attention - including being 'adopted' by a group of re-enactors (see below) - made up for it.
