After last week's three-part Monk storyline fizzled out (or was it all just a simulation?), I have high hopes for tonight's Space 1889-style story of Victorians on Mars, facing off against ice warriors, penned by fan-favourite Mark Gatiss.
For those of us in the UK, Empress of Mars (episode nine of the season's 12) airs on BBC 1 at 7.15pm.
'God save the Queen' has been scrawled on the surface of Mars. What are Victorians doing on the home of the Ice Warriors? And what will they find beneath the Martian soil?
