|How to improve your chances of seeing HeroPress posts...|
It's been two months since I 'launched' a dedicated page for HeroPress on Facebook, meaning my HeroPress posts would no longer interrupt the usual stream of memes, leftie political reposts, and other nonsense I like to share.
So far, the Facebook page has gotten 74 Likes (with a small uptick this week because of a cross-posting of the news about today's Top Secret: New World Order Kickstarter), although obviously I'd like that to go higher.
But my biggest concern isn't the number of Likes my silly little page has attracted already, but the number of people actually seeing my posts.
HeroPress posts (thank you, John and Percy), but the ones that get the most attention at the moment are the ones I manually repost to my personal wall (which kinda defeats the point of the HeroPress page in the first place!)
You'd think that because someone had Liked your page that would guarantee that they would see your posts, but that's not the way Facebook's arcane algorithms work.
For one thing they'd like me to pay to promote my page (or 'boost' individual posts), but that ain't happening. I'm not made of money and this is all supposed to be just a bit of fun.
If I actually ever produce anything that I'd like to sell, then maybe I'll pay for a Facebook advert, but for the moment I need to rely on your good graces.
By my understanding, you're more likely to see my posts if you set your feed so you see them first.
Go to the HeroPress page, pull down the menu under Following, and tick "see first" (see screen grab at top of this article).
Of course, you need to see this post to start with...
If you already follow HeroPress on Feedly (or a similar aggregator) then there's probably no need to do this (as that's certainly a better - and more direct - way to follow my posts), but if you're a Facebook fanatic then please consider putting HeroPress (and all your other favourite pages, of course) to the top of your feed.
