This evening the current season of Doctor Who wraps up and I'm hoping for a gangbusters finale that continues the harrowing excellence of the previous episode.
However, my confidence that Steven Moffat will actually see things through (and not pull some timey-wimey flimflam to undo the horror of last week's cliffhanger) is shaky in light on his tenure to date as showrunner.
Then Doctor Who will be gone from my weekly viewing (at least until Christmas... and the arrival of a new Doctor?)
My viewing list has been trimmed down of late, anyway, but now with many of my top shows having reached their season finales in the last couple of weeks (e.g. iZombie, Better Call Saul, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Veep, to name but four) that leaves me a lot of 'spare time'.
Now, this isn't a bad thing as that's more time to catch up on my stockpile of DVDs and also more time to read comics and, who knows, maybe even some novels and short story collections.
At the moment, my TV viewing schedule is down to:
- Preacher, Season 2 (such an improvement on the first season already, I'm so pleased I stuck with it)
- Twin Peaks: The Return
- American Pickers
- Robert Redford's The West
- The Handmaid's Tale
- The Leftovers (resumes on Tuesday for its final season)
- Colony (season two starts on Wednesday)
- The Last Leg
- The Crystal Maze (with Richard Ayoade)
Let's see if I can make constructive use of all this free time...
