In September, Marvel Comics is launching its next big event - Legacy.
This begins with an eponymous one-shot, then spreads out through 53 titles (because they had to one-up DC's iconic 52!) and is supposed to restore the Marvel Universe to a more fan-friendly status quo.
This project also includes, in the case of long-running titles (such as Amazing Spider-Man), a reversion to Marvel's old numbering.

not good enough!
Other initiatives for this upcoming era apparently include heroes fighting villains (not each other), clearly identified jumping-on points, bringing back the old FOOM! fan-magazine and the return of Marvel Value Stamps.
Pop over to Calvin's Canadian Cave Of Cool to see some of the spiffy animated cover GIFs that show the new covers and those that inspired them.
Frustratingly, a lot are inspired by Fantastic Four covers but there isn't an actual Fantastic Four title in the mix (there is Marvel Two-In-One which teams up The Thing and Human Torch, though).
I'll pick up the one-shot, and my usual titles (Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Iron Fist, Doctor Strange) but there's nothing really there that tickles my fancy, except Spirits Of Vengeance.
And I'm guessing these will all be $3.99 (at least) titles, so that limits my interest as well, especially as my pull-list fills up with the alternative superhero universes of Valiant, Graphic India, and other independent publishers.
