The UK's genre television in April just keeps getting better and better with the recent revelation that season 13 of Supernatural will start airing on E4 on April 17.
It's been a long and painful wait, but hopefully it will be worth it with the Scooby-Doo crossover and the backdoor pilot for spin-off Wayward Sisters - featuring the great Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes).
And more good news: Supernatural has been renewed for a fourteenth season.
This week also saw renewals for all the DCTV superhero shows: Flash, Supergirl, Legends Of Tomorrow, Arrow, and Black Lightning... which brings a smile to my face 'cos it means more superheroes on TV and superheroes make me happy!
We also mustn't forget Netflix, with the revival/reboot of Lost In Space launching next Friday (April 13).
Also coming to Netflix is Victorian crime thriller, The Alienist, which fits nicely in the stylings of such period dramas as Ripper Street and Murdoch Mysteries.
All episodes arrive on April 19.
Boasting a Hollywood cast, the show is described as:
"...an unflinching psychological thriller set amidst the underbelly of New York City’s “Gilded Age”, [that] follows Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl), a brilliant and obsessive “Alienist” in the controversial new field of treating mental pathologies, who holds the key to hunting down a never-before-seen ritualistic killer murdering young boys.
Luke Evans plays newspaper illustrator John Moore and Dakota Fanning plays Sara Howard, an ambitious secretary determined to become the city's first female police detective."
