It probably hasn't escaped your notice that there's a certain royal wedding over her in the UK tomorrow (Saturday).
But that's not the only wedding this week that's caught my attention.
The week began on Sunday with the union of Fitz and Simmons on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., then last night (Thursday) we witnessed the wedding of Sheldon and Amy in The Big Bang Theory, and - comics-wise - we've also been treated to the wedding of Kitty Pryde and Colossus of The X-Men.
So, have you ever featured a wedding in your roleplaying game campaigns? Not simply as a backdrop to a scenario, but front-and-centre, possibly even involving player-characters as either the bride or groom? Or both!
How did it go? Did your campaign cover the build-up to the event as well (such as the stag and hen parties)? Was it a full-scale 'celebrity' wedding? Or a small-scale, family-and-friends- only affair?
Or is this sort of "mushy stuff" a no-no at your table?
In all my years of gaming, I don't, personally, recall any 'on-screen' weddings of characters. If characters got married it only happened away from the table ('off-screen' in TV or film terms), but it's certainly a plotline I'd entertain if a player came to me saying they wanted their character to get hitched...
