While we're still wiping away the tears brought on by the cancellation of the beloved Ash Vs Evil Dead TV show (and the seeming retirement of Bruce Campbell from the role he will always be associated with), Dynamite has a fillip for the soul: an Army Of Darkness boardgame.
It is due to release "in the near future".
As the long-standing holders of a licence with MGM for the cult movie, and publishers of many comics inspired by it, Dynamite is well-placed to bring Ash's Medieval mishaps and mayhem to your tabletop.
"The game, designed by Lynnvander Studios (creators of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game), will incorporate highly detailed miniatures, the announcement said. This has no connection, whatsoever (different company, different product), with Space Goat's ill-fated Evil Dead 2 boardgame.
In the game, players will take on the role of Ash Williams, who with his allies will lead an army of medieval knights against Deadite zombies.
Dynamite plans expansions, accessories, and other tie-in products for separate release."
