|The Acrobatic Flea (of Earth Alphas Delta-A), by Adam Dickstein|
With my Knight City campaign setting awake once more, things have been stirring on the streets of that benighted metropolis.
While there has been the usual tinkering with the city itself - adding new locations as ideas strike, changing existing ones etc - I've also started publishing articles again on the blog element of the campaign website.
As well as an interview with a non-player character (which may contain hints towards a future story strand), I've published Villains & Vigilantes statistics for some of the major characters from the city's mythology.
And to contrast the different power levels of characters in my current take on the rules system (e.g. "street level", "typical", and "veteran").
These include: Nick Law, Sea Lord, and Exarch Farillor (the Batman, Superman/Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter, respectively, of my setting).
These have been done as "veteran heroes", on the off-chance either Nick or Steve (Sea Lord) are willing and able to pop in for a session or two, whereas the Tuesday Knights' primary heroes will be of a more "typical" power level.
Examples of these have manifested on the site as a new spin on The Acrobatic Flea (taking my signature character back to his youthful origins) and Rockette (the character I created for Rachel years ago, not that she will ever game with us as it's not "her thing").
Finally, I posted tweaked stats for Jumbay - the character I created when I was privileged enough to be given a the run-through of The Mighty Protectors by Villains & Vigilantes co-creator Jeff Dee.
This iteration of the character has been tinkered with, given the benefit of the passage of time, to make her a more functional 'street-level' character (almost a Vigilante Hack character, in fact).
My article about the multiverse, as seen through the lens of the infinite variations of The Acrobatic Flea, proved very popular here on HeroPress, but there was also an "in-universe" iteration of the article on the campaign website.
Finally, the addition of three, new, "behind-the-screen" tabs to the site was a major change, the first real acknowledgement that this is a Villains & Vigilantes campaign... rather than simply a thought exercise.
These were: a lifting of my Villains & Vigilantes links page from here; a page of links to the brief houserules I'm playing around with; and a page to link to player-character write-ups - currently this just hosts links to the non-player characters mentioned above.
Ultimately, this is where I plan to add links to the Tuesday Knights' characters... but that's a long way off yet.
