The latest Kickstarter from Bloat Games launched this week and hit its funding target within four hours.
Written by Jodie Brandt and Josh Palmer, The Cryptid Manual for Dark Places & Demogorgons is a 'monster manual' for the hugely popular Stranger Things-inspired, 1980's set, game of 'kids on bikes' investigating mysteries in their hometown and monster hunting.
The 90 page, full colour, digest sized (6x9) book (which will be available in PDF, hard cover and softcover) is presented in the style of government files and hunter's notebooks, detailing such creatures as Bigfoot, The Mothman, The Jersey Devil, The Pope Lick Monster, Chupacabra, Gremlins, various Extraterrestrials, and Lake Monsters... to name but a few.
The contents of this monster book are easily adaptable for use with any old school roleplaying system, as you can gather from the following examples.

The book is has been fully written, edited, play-tested, designed, with all its art in place, so project co-coordinator Eric Bloat is aiming for a March fulfilment date.
For the first time, Bloat Games will be using DriveThruRPG for the print editions of the game, which makes it so much easier for backers outside the United States to get the book at an affordable shipping price (as it will be printed on demand at a more convenient location for them).
The fundraiser runs until February 8. Check out the campaign's Kickstarter page to learn more about the book, its contents and creators, as well as the various investor incentives, stretch goals, and an explanation of the fulfilment process.
