"Only The Brilliant HeroPress Gets To The Cool News Before The Cave of Cool" read the headline of an article on the legendary Cave Of Cool blog the other day, singing the praises of this here blog.
Prolific blogger Calvin wrote:
"If you wonder where the Cave of Cool gets many of its best material you can look no further than the HeroPress where Brother Tim shares my love for many things..."I'm not too cynical or reserved to accept the fact that this - out of the blue - post made me smile.
Over the years, both Cal and I have shared material between each others' blogs, but this got me thinking as, even after almost a dozen years of blogging, it's still an amazing feeling when someone acknowledges that they've read something you've posted.
So, this is my thought: as a New Year's Resolution (even if you're not the kind of person who makes such things): try to leave a comment on a blog you read; or if, you write a blog or use Facebook, post an article about someone else's blog.
These small gestures mean a lot. Especially during the dark days of winter, and during these times when division is so rife and the Internet is being used as a vehicle to push messages of hate and contempt, try spreading a bit of love and support.
Who knows? You might just make someone's day.
