|I know there's no stripes on the carpet, or red curtains, but something about this gives me a Twin Peaks vibe!|
These last couple of days, diligent decorator Jason has been transforming our lounge walls from a dark green/grey to white (with a blue accent wall around the new fireplace).
As you can see from the picture above, the room is immediately much brighter and, thus, feels larger.
And, for some reason, just keeps making me think of Twin Peaks (despite the lack of red curtains, stripes, and a backwards talking little guy).
Here follows a pictorial progression of the room's transformation, from the night before work began:
Through the first day's work, preparing the room:
To yesterday morning, when we could start to see the new look taking shape:
Later in the afternoon:
Then, finally, yesterday evening, after Jason finished around 7pm.
This meant Rachel and I could remove the dust sheets from the furniture, and move the sofa and my recliner back to their rightful positions. Rachel also changed out the old lampshade for a new Ikea purchase.
Next up, our wonderfully friendly and helpful removal men are coming back to bring the heavy, white units down from upstairs to sit in the two alcoves either side of the chimney breast.
And finally, Rachel's dad will be setting up our old, widescreen TV (from our previous house) on a bracket over the fire.
Then (once the cabinets are full again), the lounge will be finished!
