Let there be light!
The garden room - having been painted this week - now has power, thanks to the pair of electricians who came today and wired us in.
Rather cannily they ran the wire from the cabin under the decking, rather than round the back of Rachel's outdoor sofas as we'd originally imagined (which means less visible cabling).
I was also impressed by the outdoor lights (I didn't even know we were getting anything on the exterior) and the fact that we have lights in both the main room and the storage room, as well as multiple sockets (more than we could ever need) in the main room.
To be honest, I assumed they were just putting a plug in and it would up to us to do the rest. So, I say: result!
And all this in a persistent rain shower, which also didn't hamper work on the loft conversion, where the dormer is taking shape.
I don't want to jinx things, but the builders seem very happy with how this job is shaping up, and everything's moving at an impressive pace.
Next week, I believe we're getting our new staircase (from the first floor up to the new level).
