Based on the bestselling Valiant comic, Vin Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation.Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! What a pity these trailers make Bloodshot look like a direct-to-video, generic '80s action movie, with a splash of sci-fi.
With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force – stronger than ever and able to heal instantly.
But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too.
Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not – but he’s on a mission to find out.
Bloodshot comes to cinemas February 21.
It's 2019 folks, people know what superhero movies can look like, you know.
And where, oh where, is Bloodshot's iconic alabaster-white skin? Isn't that part of the characters USP? His brand?
Is this Stallone and Judge Dredd's helmet all over again?
If this really is the best they can do (and it's not some bizarre fake-out), then I fear the prospect of a Valiant Cinematic Universe to rival Marvel's is dead on arrival.
For those who don't know, this (below) is what Bloodshot looks like in comics. Can you spot the difference?
