When I said we could see light at the end of the tunnel the other week, it was these lights... now hanging in our new stairwell!
Since my last update on our loft conversion project, the electrician came back to do his final fittings, and kindly installed Rachel's posh new dangling lights in the stairwell (as neither of us could reach it nor did we fancy balancing on some kind of ladder up there!).
The gabling work has been done by the brickie, then rendered by the plasters, which meant the plumbers could come in and install the fixtures in the en-suite bathroom (Rachel seems oddly excited that we are now a three toilet household!).
The plumbers also got our heating working again, which was a blessing as we seem to be crashing into autumn all of a sudden.
As of today, we're just waiting on a firm to install the bespoke glass shower screen, but - barring minor snagging - that's pretty much a wrap on the building work up here.
Jason, our decorator, is scheduled to start work next week, then - once he's finished - it'll be the fun of getting new carpets fitted throughout the new floor, down both flights of stairs and into the lounge.
We ordered a new bed at the weekend, so that should be ready for delivery by the time the top floor is finished.
The end, truly, is in sight.
