Following on from my last post about ZineQuest 2 on Kickstarter, here are three more 'zines hat I'm backing and I thought you might be interested in.
All are already funded and offer sensible shipping options for print editions.
First up in a game of superpowered cats, called Mew-tants.
Froth said on his most recent episode of Sunday Zine Club that you should back projects that you would never see in any form other than small-run 'zines, and I reckon Aled Lawlor's game about cats with incredible abilities is just such a product.
The UK-based creator sells it thus:
"Explore the neighbourhood, rescue stranded cats from trees, and take down the 'nip and kibble dealers. Anything is possible when you're a Mew-Tant! Again except using things that require thumbs, you are still a cat."There are definitely shades of Bunnies & Burrows here - just an urban setting with feline Avengers!
Next up is Australian Harrison Swift's Thirty-Six Stranger Chambers, a 'zine of strange dungeon rooms for any RPG.
A madcap collage of eccentric encounters to drop into any dungeon-themed adventure, presented in a saddle-stapled A5 booklet about 48-pages long.
You can already checkout a six room sample here. The first room I read sold the whole product to me!
Finally on this week's global tour of gaming genius, we have Pariah, an old school game, from Joey Donovan in Vietnam.
This is an OSR compatible (although classless and level-less) RPG of psychedelic, neolithic, animist adventures from when the world was young.
Carve out your own community in a chaotic world where everything is alive - even the mountains and rivers - with this beautifully-illustrated and self-contained system.
Read more about the unique setting on the 'zine's Kickstarter page.
