Daily Planet intern Clark Kent takes learning-on-the-job to new extremes when Lobo and Parasite set their sights on Metropolis in Superman: Man of Tomorrow, the next entry in the popular series of DC Universe Movies. On one hand, I always welcome new superhero content, but do we really need yet another iteration of Superman's origin?
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the feature-length animated film will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital starting August 23, and on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack on September 8.
Surely, in his 80 year history, there have been other stories worth animating?
Or, I don't know, a wholly original adventure?
And throwing Lobo in the mix... why?
If ever there was a DC character that encapsulated the nadir of '80s comics, it is he.
The only decent take on that character in the last 30 years has been Emmett Scanlan's brilliant live-action performance in the sadly axed Krypton series.
