|Toasting the start of "staycation" on Monday|
As I mentioned last weekend, this week has been Rachel's well-deserved staycation. It was a fun few days, accented by glorious weather.
Much time was spent in our lovely garden, taking advantage of the sun.
On Tuesday, Rachel's parents delivered her Malibu Beach House, her latest dolls house project which had dad had kindly constructed from the many, many tiny bits it originally came in.
Then we had a family lunch on the patio.

The only low-point of the week came the next day, when we had to take Alice to the vets for her appointment to sort out her bad teeth. Not only did they end up extracting several, but the vets also discovered an ear infection, which we have now been treating Alice for with daily ear drops.
Alice wasn't best pleased about all that and took a day to get her smile and her bounce back.
Thursday was again spent largely in the garden, while Alice recovered. Rachel was also planting some bamboo she'd bought the day before, to sit by the fence on our upper decking.

Then Friday was our first trip to the beach in over a year. We went to Bexhill, on the south coast, walked along the breezy but beautiful beach, met a load of other dogs and their owners, and got fish'n'chips - the perfect end to a chilled staycation.
