However, this afternoon, I realised that all the extras (the gag reel and a fascinating-sounding documentary of the various myths that have informed the latest story arc) were absent, despite being heavily promoted on the season box.
Not knowing quite what to do, I called the Warners Home Entertainment Consumer Helpline (listed in tiny writing on the outside of the box) and a very helpful lady told me this was a known problem and if I returned the box set to the Freepost address below, a 'corrected' replacement would be sent out immediately.

A similar thing happened with a Doctor Who DVD last year - although that issue had much wider publicity - and when I returned the disc to 2Entertain they sent me not only a replacement but a free DVD by way of apology (The Hand Of Fear, which by happy coincidence I didn't happen to own).
I love it when big company's throw up their hands, without argument, and say: "Mea culpa" - gives one hope, in some small way, that the corporate world may not be so bleak and soulless, as we sometimes imagine, after all.
I'm still waiting for the Slumdog Millionaire snafu to be resolved. Similar thing.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I've tagged you for the new Certified Geek Blog Award. Why? Because you deserve it.
I guess the Slumdog issue is an American thing as Rachel's copy seems to be okay.
ReplyDeleteAnd, thank you for my award - I'm very honoured :D
