Having completed two insightful documentaries about Star Wars fandom - The Force Among Us and The Force Within Us - filmmaker Cris Macht has now turned his lens on fans of The Walking Dead.
As with his earlier films, Cris is financing this project through Kickstarter, with his latest campaign aiming to raise $10,000 by April 15 (next Tuesday).
Shamble on over to The Walkers Among Us Kickstarter page to learn about the incentives for investment (e.g. $20 will get you a download, while $30 will get you the DVD).
Speaking from personal experience, Cris has a great track record for delivering on his crowdfunding campaigns. Just check out my reviews of his two Star Wars documentaries - The Force Among Us and The Force Within Us - to get an idea of Chris's style of documentary-making.
You can also read an interview I conducted with Cris back in 2007, after the release of his first Star Wars documentary, here.
Now a full-time documentarian, Cris told me last weekend about his current plans: "After I made my second Star Wars documentary I wanted to explore the world of The Walking Dead fans. I am also a big fan of the TV show. The Walkers Among Us is in the same style as The Force Among Us and The Force Within Us, packed with interviews with both the fans and cast and crew and has the same passion as my previous films.
"This is what I do full time now so there will be several projects in the works – including a third Star Wars doc (to be filmed next year). We are also putting the finishing touches on The Force Among Us Directors Cut and it will be released this spring!"
