comic book TV series, according to HeroPress readers, is: Constantine.
Constantine took the lead early on and pretty much held onto it for the two weeks the poll ran.
This surprised me and has got me more interested in the show than I already was.
Superficially, as a TV show, it looks like it could just be a reworking of the Supernatural formula, but clearly people are seeing more in it than that. I hope they're not basing their expectations on the excellence of the source material (well, the pre-New 52 John Constantine, anyway) as I'm not that convinced the TV show will ever go as dark as the comics.
With 21 per cent of the vote, the occult adventures of John Constantine just edged out a three-way tie between the next season of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Defenders (Daredevil/Iron Fist/Luke Cage/Jessica Jones) and The Flash (all on 18 per cent).
I have to wonder if The Defenders got a bump last week with the revelation of Charlie Cox being cast as Daredevil - the first bit of casting news we've had about the Netflix mini-series.
Next came Agent Carter with 11 per cent and Gotham with eight per cent. I really expected Gotham to do better, but then I get the impression that I'm not the only person thinking, no matter how good it looks in the trailer, how can a story about Gotham City work without Batman?
Arrow (season three) got a paltry five per cent, but I don't believe that reflects badly on the show as everyone who watches it knows how consistently strong it is, so it's just a given that season three will be excellent.
Then there's Heroes: Reborn with one per cent of the vote. That says it all.
