|Elizabeth Tulloch will be the new Lois Lane|
Set to appear in the three-part DCTV crossover introducing Ruby Rose's Batwoman to the Arrowverse, Grimm's Elizabeth Tulloch has been announced as Lois Lane, partnering up with Tyler Hoechlin's superb take on Superman.
Given that Warner Bros recently stated that it wasn't pursuing any Superman movies at present, surely this frees up the character - as portrayed by Hoechlin - to get his own DCTV show?
We've already met Lois's sister, Lucy (Jenna Dewan), and father, General Sam Lane (Glen Morshower), in Supergirl, so there's a ready built supporting cast for the show.
In DC Universe casting news - which is still interesting, but less relevant to me while the DC Universe streaming service remains an America-only offering - 19-year-old Brec Bassinger, from TV's School Of Rock, has been named as the lead in Stargirl.
Gotham's Crystal Reed has been cast an Abby Arcane in the hard-R horror interpretation of Swamp Thing, under the genre-specific eye of James Wan (director of Aquaman and The Conjuring).
Meanwhile in Doom Patrol, legendary James Bond and Doctor Who actor Timothy Dalton will be playing 'The Chief', Dr Niles Caulder, the team's wheelchair-bound leader.
The Mummy's Brendan Fraser will be voicing Robotman as well as playing Cliff Steele, his pre-robot, human identity; Joivan Wade is Cyborg; April Bowlby is Elasti-Woman; and Diane Guerrero is playing fan-favourite Crazy Jane.
