Yesterday was our annual comic-con (aka Tonbridge Geeky-Con) at the Angel Centre, and so Rachel and I had to pootle along.
I wasn't particularly interested in getting any autographs from the guests this year (the line-up had changed quite a bit in the last few weeks with people dropping out and replacements being rotated in), it was the traders and the reproduction props that were tickling my fancy.
The first thing we noticed upon arrival was that it felt busier than last year - but still no to the level where I'd find it uncomfortable. There were, maybe, the same amount of traders as before but it felt like more visitors had come in cosplay (you'll get a mere taste of the breadth of design and talent on display, from my pictures).
However, I managed to spend a lot less than last year as well - not that I wasn't tempted, but I realise 90 per cent of the stuff I already own has still to be unpacked in the new house so there's no real need to add (too much) to that at the moment.
I got my zombie portrait (see down below), a glorious Dungeons & Dragons cartoon print from Doctor Who Adventures artist Grant Perkins, an old DC comic book, won a Star Trek book in a charity tombola, and we got some cupcakes to snack on when we got home.
Rachel's highlight of the event (besides the Spider-Man cosplayer in skintight Lycra) was being told she sneezed like a Disney princess.
I, of course, loved it all... and am already looking forward to next year!
The hat and scarf were a loan... but I reckon I make a pretty decent Doctor.
Winter is coming!
Who ya gonna call?
The Thanos cosplay was spectacular, but we singularly failed to get a decent picture of him
before he had to go and lie down in a darkened room...
... which allowed me a chance to try out his throne!
The zombies were back in the cafeteria...
And they finally got me... as shown in this marvellous piece of art commissioned at the show.
In my excitement at its magnificence, I totally forgot to take note of the artist's name though,
and I can't make it out from the signature.
