We're into the first week of serious work on the loft conversion and, as far as I can, things seem to be going to plan.
There's a ton of noise overhead - which is freaking out poor Alice (Rachel's got a hectic week this week and so can't take the pup to work, unfortunately) - but except for inducing a headache on the Monday hasn't really bothered me. I've been more concerned about Alice.
Although a 'test hole' has been punched in the ceiling at the top of the stairwell (to judge where the walls are) and a couple of bolts have popped out plaster nearby (as we were warned would happen), it's the bathroom that's taken "one hell of a beating".
The plaster in the walls has cracked and there's daylight appearing along the join of the outside wall and the ceiling, but it's early days and I'm sure all this will be "put right" in the weeks to come.
But outside of the damage I've already shown you, no other plaster work in the house has yet been affected by all this.
