Although it's still weeks away from completion, when the workmen, converting our loft into a new bedroom had done as much as they could yesterday, they invited me upstairs to take a gander.
Obviously the stairs were now in place, but it was still terrifying for an unsteady-Neddy like me as the top of the stairs emerge right next to a large open hole in our loft wall (see the top picture or the one below the rain video).
But once I found my sealegs, I was flabbergasted.
For obvious safety reasons I'd never gone up into the old loft, it's now looking fantastic up there already - and so much bigger than I'd imagined.
Sure, there's still some internal walls to be built (for the en-suite shower-room and walk-in closet), but it's amazing.
And given the weather conditions this week (the hottest day of the year followed by a morning of torrential rain and thunderstorms), neither Rachel nor I can believe how much they've done already.
The view out the backdoor this morning!
