|Progress So Far...|
Like most gamers, not only do I have more funky dice than I know what to do with I also have a "lead mountain" of unpainted miniatures... waiting for a brush.
Obviously, these days a "lead mountain" contains a variety of plastic, pewter, and other non-lethal substances, but you get the picture.
So, the other day I hit upon a plan. To help conquer my "lead mountain", as well as actually get a handle on what figures I actually have, I intend to catalogue them all into plastic containers, divided up by subject matter.
Having ordered a bundle of 50 containers (and lids) from Amazon, and using address labels to "name" the boxes, I have begun the great task of organisation.
Thanks to some massive plastic trolls in the most recent Reaper Bones Kickstarter, I already have three boxes labelled "trolls", but then I have one labelled "townsfolk" (which will almost certainly increase when my Dunkeldorf figures arrive), another labelled "adventurers", one saying "undead", another "pig-faced orcs" etc
Unfortunately, although I've already packed 19 containers, I've only scratched the surface of my backlog of unpainted miniatures.
Part of the problem has been, in the past, I've tended to send off the newest arrivals for painting, meaning older figures slip further down the mountain.
Hopefully, with this plan I'll be able to both keep things reasonably neat in the gamesroom and make better decisions as to which figures get sent off to be painted next... as I piece together my fantasy campaign world one 28mm figure at a time.
