Our loft conversion team, the brilliant Space Invaders, came round for their penultimate clean-up (the final one will be after the scaffolding is removed) this week, once the last skip full of rubbish was removed from our front lawn.
Now, the lawn no longer resembles a builder's supply yard or a rubbish dump, it just looks as though an alien craft has landed, creating the least-inspired "crop circle" in history.
Next spring, there will probably be some serious reseeding of the grass.
I have returfed a garden before (at a rental property I shared with Clare many years ago), so - depending how I feel, health-wise, at the time - I might even entertain doing some turf laying out there.
Meanwhile, inside, as the glass fitter cut the template for our odd-shaped shower screen, Jason cracked on with the decorating of our new master bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and walk-in wardrobe:
The start of the week was mist-coating...
...in the side rooms as well
Then the grey paint went up on the left-hand wall...
... followed by Rachel's carefully chosen "feature wallpaper" on two walls
Jason's just got to come back on Monday morning to finish off some second coats, edges etc and then this stage of the decorating is complete.
He'll be back in a few weeks to paint the hallway throughout the house, and the second bedroom (the current master bedroom).
Rachel's dad was over today to measure the walk-in wardrobe on the top floor, so he can fit hangers etc for all of Rachel's clothes.
The almost finished decorating (on this floor) at the end of the week!
