My life-long love for the Fantastic Four isn't exactly a state secret. They were my true gateway drug into the wonderful world of superhero comics back when I was a wee nipper.
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Fantastic Four celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
To celebrate this game-changing team, Marvel will be launching a six-issue mini-series, Fantastic Four: Life Story, which will be taking a leaf out of the recent Spider-Man: Life Story that marked the publisher's 80th anniversary.
As with the Spider-Man book, each issue of the Fantastic Four comic - which tells the history of the group - will be set against the backdrop of a different decade.
Mark Russell is writing, with Sean Izaakse and Nolan Woodward providing the art.
The first issue is due out in May and is set in the 'Swinging Sixties':
"... when Reed, Ben, Sue, and Johnny took that fateful journey to space that changed the face of comic book storytelling forever.Check out some interior art by Sean Izaakse (whose work you should recognise from Fantastic Four and Avengers No Road Home):
"Against the backdrop of the Cold War and the space race, a terrible accident occurs that gives them great powers and a terrible secret, entangling them in earth’s history forever as they transform into the world’s premiere super hero team."
