Pre-orders have opened this week for the official Dragon Prince roleplaying game - Tales of Xadia - based upon the incredible on-going Netflix animated series.
Experience The Dragon Prince as never before as you explore the mysteries of the elves, the humans, and the dragons, as well as the primal sources that flow through everything.
Forge your own adventures across the incredible lands of Xadia or come together in an organized play storyline that ties directly to the series.
Whichever path you choose, you and your friends can forge alliances, uncover secrets, engage in mighty battles, and protect those you love from peril and prophecy.Powered by the Cortex system and published by Fandom Tabletop, the game is in open playtest mode at the moment, meaning you can already learn about the rules system and play through a sample adventure.
If you're impressed by what you see, or simply must own anything connected to the world of the Dragon Prince, you can pre-order the Tales of Xadia Handbook in either PDF for $24.99 or print form (the print edition purchase includes a PDF) for $49.99.
Personally I have no interest in the game system per se (given my dislike of dice pool mechanics... and this seems like it would be an exceedingly slow one in play), but I want to know more about the world, and how it can be translated into gameable terminology.
That said, fifty dollars for a book, plus another twenty-five to ship it over to the UK is a massive red flag for me.
Hopefully, Tales of Xadia will eventually be released through online games stores here, or on Amazon, so I can pick it up for a budget-friendly price and avoid the astronomical shipping costs.
