Our beloved bunny Barney turns nine today. In human terms that's anywhere from late 60s to 90, depending on which "what's the equivalent rabbit age in human years" site Rachel was looking on.
Whatever the human equivalent actually is, that's an impressive age for a rabbit.
And he's showing no signs of slowing down.
In fact, since he was relocated to his lovely new home (when we moved a couple of years ago), he's had a new lease of life and become a real-life version of the Energizer Bunny.
He's much more active now he has an actual run attached to his home, which he can access whenever he wants. There's no more sitting and glaring, as used to happen at the old place when we had to physically lift him out of his former hutch and on to the grass.
Now he is his own lord and master, and is all the better for it.
To celebrate Barney's big day, Rachel picked him up some new chew toys... because that's what he likes.
