It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone.
So when The Boys learn of a mysterious anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into The Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.

I'm so excited for the new season. It's funny because I complain about superhero deconstruction and really do want to see some old school wholesome stuff... but when it's done this good, I can handle the dirty too.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. The Boys probably wasn't the first to do this, but its one of the best. Invincible does it well as well, by taking a different tack.
DeleteAs long as the deconstruction is done with intelligence, to examine a point or issue, and not just as an excuse for graphic violence, it can work.
